Inheritance
I stand where she stood,
She stood
Where she stood,
And she stood,
And she stood;
Shucking oysters, gutting mackerel,
Layering presence like fish scales
Each tucked into one another
Pearlised by place, by sea, by shingled shore,
Secured like cockle shells
To this coved coast.
